Our client has a rich history of providing infrastructure services, including highways, dams, potable water facilities, irrigation channels, ponds, tunnels, etc., and superstructure services encompassing buildings, administrative and territorial structures, social structures, bridges, and bridge junctions for over 25 years. Having recently secured a new project in Romania for the modernization and extension of DN71 Bâldana – Târgoviște – Sinaia, we are actively recruiting engineers and supervisors to join their team. Fluency in Romanian is a requirement for all profiles
Role Summary: As an Earthworks and Soil Works Foreman you will play a pivotal role in the DN71 Bâldana – Târgoviște – Sinaia project. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage all earthworks and soil activities on-site, ensuring that operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications and environmental regulations.

Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage all earthworks and soil activities on-site, ensuring that operations are carried out efficiently, safely, and in compliance with project specifications and environmental regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate activities of the earthworks and soil works team, ensuring timely and quality completion of work.
- Interpret and implement construction plans related to earthmoving and soil stabilization tasks.
- Monitor the progress of earthworks and soil works, adjusting strategies and resources as necessary to meet project milestones.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other construction professionals to resolve any technical issues and ensure the smooth progression of the project.
- Conduct regular inspections of machinery and equipment, coordinating maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime.
- Prepare reports on work progress, resources, and challenges, providing insights for project management.
- Train and mentor junior staff, fostering a team environment that encourages continuous learning and improvement.
- Proven experience as an Earthworks Foreman or similar role in large infrastructure or road construction projects.
- Strong understanding of earthmoving techniques, soil stabilization methods, and relevant construction standards and regulations.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a diverse team.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with GPS-guided construction equipment and modern earthworks technologies is an advantage.
- Commitment to safety, with knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to earthworks operations.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills, capable of coordinating with multiple stakeholders and resolving issues proactively.
- Technical diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field is preferred.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules and work assignments.
- Fluency in Romanian is a requirement for all profiles
