Company Overview: We are excited to announce an opportunity to join our client  rapidly growing New Product Development unit within the pharmaceutical sector. Our focus is on pioneering new chemical APIs for groundbreaking pharmaceutical products. We are committed to building a state-of-the-art facility in Ingelheim that embodies our innovative, fast-to-market development approach.
Role Summary: The Construction Manager will play a crucial role in our expansion, reporting directly to the Project Manager. This position demands excellence in managing construction processes from initial design to project closeout. The successful candidate will ensure project milestones are met within budget, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead construction management efforts from design through to commissioning and closeout.
  • Negotiate and direct activities of subcontractors, ensuring strong relationships and smooth operations.
  • Implement and monitor cost control systems and project schedules.
  • Manage change orders, submittals, and requests for information (RFIs).
  • Oversee project governance, develop work packages, and manage resource allocation.
  • Develop and enforce a Construction Execution Plan and project documentation strategy.
  • Conduct regular coordination meetings with engineering contractors and perform quality gate reviews.
  • Support contract management and develop contracting strategies.
  • Analyze and report on project progress and develop strategies for any required recovery measures.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and documentation standards.
Candidate Profile:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, preferably in complex, fast-track projects.
  • Experience with various project execution and contract models (EPC, EPCM, LS, UR, T&M).
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically manage construction projects, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Fluency in German and proficient in English.
  • LEED accreditation is considered an asset.
