Job Description: Commissioning Engineer - Electrical

Location: The Netherlands
Duration: 3 months (with potential extension)
 

Overview:
We are currently seeking a qualified Commissioning Engineer with a specialization in electrical systems to join our team on a newly built ship project in The Netherlands. This position is initially for a three-month period, with the possibility of extension. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in the maritime industry and be skilled in commissioning, testing, and ensuring the operational readiness of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform commissioning checks on electrical systems, including cables and connections, on a new build ship.
  • Test all conceivable shipboard electrical systems to ensure they meet design specifications and safety standards.
  • Identify and diagnose issues in electrical circuits and components.
  • Ensure all electrical systems are fully operational and comply with maritime regulatory standards.
  • Document and report on the testing phases and results, providing detailed insights and actionable recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer, particularly within the maritime sector.
  • Strong technical expertise in electrical systems, including hands-on experience with cable checking, connection verification, and system testing.
  • Thorough understanding of maritime safety and quality standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprints.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, capable of working closely with other engineers and project managers.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality.
