Job description
We are currently looking for a Design & Proposal Engineer Marine Diving Vessels for a project of 15 months (extension possible) at our clients location (Rotterdam area) in The Netherlands. This concerns an innovative project because the vessel will be built dual fuel (methanol / diesel) and the purpose will be to dive. This means a lot of complex systems have to be installed in a tight space. Dimensions are limited because the vessel will be operating mainly in inland waters.

We are currently looking for a Design & Proposal Engineer Marine Diving Vessels for a project of 15 months (extension possible) at our clients location (Rotterdam area) in The Netherlands. This concerns an innovative project because the vessel will be built dual fuel (methanol / diesel) and the purpose will be to dive. This means a lot of complex systems have to be installed in a tight space. Dimensions are limited because the vessel will be operating mainly in inland waters.
Tasks & responsibilities
- You will design the vessel according to the clients criteria (draw up line plans, assess ship strengths, establish main classifications, technical specifications, etc);
- You will draft general plans, write specifications and draw up procurement specifications;
- You collaborate with internal departments and external partners for optimal project results;
- You set up project plans, including milestones, and calculate supplemental work and cost savings.
- Technical knowledge & soft skills
- You have a bachelor degree in Engineering, Maritime or in another technical field;
- You have EU citizenship because of the military nature of the project;
- You look back at minimally 3 years working experience in a similar position
- You have excellent knowledge of the English language (spoken and written).
- You are (preferably) familiar with software packages such as Rhinoceros, Maxsurf, Pias, Cadmatic, etc.
