Electrical Design Engineer – Switchboard (EPLAN)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Electrical Design Engineer to support switchboard and electrical system design for projects in the shipbuilding sector. You will work with EPLAN P8 to develop technical drawings and documentation for low- and medium-voltage switchboards. While the projects are in the shipbuilding industry, previous experience in shipbuilding is not required—we value your electrical design expertise above all.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design electrical schematics and panel layouts using EPLAN P8

  • Prepare wiring diagrams, terminal plans, cable lists, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)

  • Ensure designs comply with IEC, EN, and UL standards

  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams

  • Perform design validation and support manufacturability checks

  • Offer technical assistance during assembly, testing, and commissioning

  • Participate in internal design reviews and implement improvements

  • Maintain organized and up-to-date project documentation


Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline

  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in electrical design (preferably switchboards)

  • Strong proficiency in EPLAN P8

  • Knowledge of control panels, PLC wiring, and power distribution systems

  • Solid understanding of relevant international electrical standards

  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving mindset

  • Good English skills (technical communication level)

  • Team player with strong coordination and communication abilities


Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with EPLAN Pro Panel or similar 3D panel design tools

  • Experience with AutoCAD Electrical, SAP, or other design tools

  • Background in industrial automation or energy systems

  • Interest in shipbuilding or marine electrical systems (experience not mandatory)
