We are seeking a proactive and experienced Hull & Structures Basic Design Coordinator to oversee and align structural engineering activities during the early phases of design projects. This role requires a blend of technical precision, coordination skills, and problem-solving ability to ensure that hull and structural designs meet all relevant standards and client requirements.
The ideal candidate will serve as the key interface between internal design teams, classification societies, and client technical stakeholders—managing the development of structural solutions from initial concept through to class approval.
Lead and coordinate hull and structural design activities in the basic design phase of shipbuilding, retrofitting, or conversion projects.
Translate technical specifications and project requirements into compliant structural design concepts.
Review and validate drawings and technical documentation in accordance with class society rules (e.g., DNV, LR, ABS) and IMO standards.
Serve as the main technical liaison for clients, classification societies, and other design disciplines to ensure design alignment and smooth approval processes.
Identify engineering challenges and propose practical, cost-effective solutions without compromising safety or quality.
Mentor and support junior engineers, maintaining high standards of accuracy, quality, and project timeline compliance.
Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
At least 10 years of experience in hull and structural design, with a strong focus on basic design phases.
Solid knowledge of classification society rules and international shipbuilding regulations.
Strong problem-solving capabilities and a practical engineering mindset.
Experience in multidisciplinary, project-based environments.
Clear and effective communication skills for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
