Senior Project Manager – Maritime Projects
Location: Mangalia (Constanța area) or Bucharest
Department: Operations Team
Reports to: Operations Manager
Supervises: Team Leaders, Planners/Coordinators, Engineers
Languages: Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Experience Required:
  • Minimum 10 years as Project Manager within the shipbuilding industry
  • Minimum 3 years managing international maritime projects (shipbuilding or design preferred)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of complex maritime projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the complete project lifecycle—from engineering and Class approval to procurement, logistics, riding crew mobilization, and commissioning.
Acting as the main liaison for clients, internal teams, and regulatory bodies, the Senior Project Manager will ensure that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and according to agreed quality and performance standards. This role requires a mix of strategic oversight and hands-on project management, with autonomy in leading multidisciplinary teams across international projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end project execution from initiation to closure
  • Define scope, manage scheduling, budgeting, and progress reporting
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and contract terms
  • Handle scope changes and maintain accurate documentation and approvals
  • Monitor project financials including forecasting and cost control
  • Deliver regular updates to senior management and stakeholders
  • Oversee documentation, quality assurance, and control processes
  • Support performance evaluations and resource allocation planning
  • Ensure alignment with ERP systems and internal workflows

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering (mandatory)
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) – preferred
  • At least 10 years of experience in shipyard/design/heavy industry
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing international maritime projects
  • Proficiency with MS Project or Primavera, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams
