 Electrical Specialist (Offshore / Marine)

Role Overview

As an Electrical Specialist, you will be part of a Centre of Expertise, providing technical support to offshore fleet operations and project teams on electrical systems, automation, and Dynamic Positioning (DP). You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of onboard electrical and control systems.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure availability and reliability of all electrical equipment, automation, and DP systems across vessels.
  • Provide technical advice to fleet management and vessel teams on electrical and automation systems.
  • Support day-to-day troubleshooting and technical issue resolution onboard vessels.
  • Deliver technical guidance during vessel dockings, repairs, and upgrades.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of Planned Maintenance Systems (PMS).
  • Develop and manage fleet critical spare parts strategies and lifecycle management.
  • Conduct vessel inspections and assess equipment performance and compliance.
  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors for technical evaluations and support.
  • Coach and guide vessel and fleet teams to ensure safe and efficient operation of systems.
  • Promote adherence to QHSE standards and ensure safe working practices.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, such as:
    • Electrical Technical Officer (ETO) on DP vessels, or
    • Experience with design, installation, commissioning, or servicing within shipyards, OEMs, or service companies
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Vessel power generation and distribution systems
    • PLC/SCADA-based automation systems
    • Dynamic Positioning (DP) systems
  • Solid understanding of applicable industry standards
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and commitment to safety and environmental standards
  • Proficient in English (written and spoken), including technical reporting
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and stay onboard vessels for extended periods
