Project Manager Shipbuilding – The Netherlands Location: Hardinxveld-Giessendam- The Netherlands Contract: Employment/ Freelancer For a specialized shipyard focused on the construction and refit of work vessels, naval vessels, tugboats, and cable-laying ships, we are looking for a hands-on Project Manager Shipbuilding. In this role, you will work on a project basis within a dynamic shipyard environment, where you will have a direct impact on the realization of complex maritime projects. Role Description As Project Manager, you are responsible for the full execution and coordination of shipbuilding projects on-site. You operate independently while working closely with internal teams such as engineering, production, and procurement. You are a true hands-on professional: present on the work floor, quick to adapt, and actively steering projects to achieve objectives. Key Responsibilities
Develop, manage, and adjust project schedules
Monitor project budgets and control costs
Coordinate procurement activities and manage suppliers
Lead multidisciplinary teams within the shipyard
Monitor and ensure project quality and progress
Identify and manage risks and deviations
Report to stakeholders and the client
Maintain hands-on involvement in on-site execution
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (HBO/WO), preferably in Shipbuilding or Maritime Engineering
Proven experience as a Project Manager in shipbuilding projects
Strong skills in planning, budgeting, quality control, and procurement
Hands-on mentality with experience in a shipyard environment
Independent, proactive, and results-driven
Good command of the English language
A valid EU work permit is required for this position. Candidates must already have the legal right to work in the Netherlands.
