We are looking for an Electrical Engineer to work on advanced maritime, naval, and defence projects in Rotterdam.
In this role, you will design and integrate electrical systems for complex vessels and submarines. You will be involved from concept and engineering through production, implementation, testing, and commissioning.
Responsibilities
You will:
- Define the basic electrical system design for onboard installations
- Ensure proper integration of power generation, lighting, control, and other electrical systems
- Prepare technical specifications and select components and materials
- Develop or coordinate detailed electrical design work
- Analyse technical issues and propose practical system solutions
- Review and assess technical documentation and system data
- Coordinate with clients, end users, project teams, and classification societies
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, client requirements, and classification rules
- Support commissioning activities
- Participate in FAT, HAT, and SAT for complex systems
- Provide technical guidance to a small team of Electrical Engineers
Requirements
You bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong experience with electrical installations, system integration, power generation, and lighting
- Experience in the maritime or naval sector is preferred
- Knowledge of electronic and control engineering materials
- Experience with EPLAN is a strong advantage
- Ability to guide and support other Electrical Engineers
- Knowledge of classification society requirements is a plus
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Right to work in the EU
