Job description
Engineering is carried out in-house, keeping you close to the full technical process: from design development and class-related coordination through to production support and handover. The production halls are located next to the engineering offices, giving you direct visibility of how drawings, material specifications and technical decisions translate into yacht construction.
The department is responsible for the technical design of yachts, including construction, outfitting and exterior structures. You will work in an international, technically demanding and quality-driven environment, with close collaboration between Engineering, Production, Purchasing, suppliers, Flag and Class.
Your challenge will be to create a clear, complete and traceable technical basis for the construction of multiple yacht projects at the same time. You will maintain control over drawings, specifications, bills of material, quotations, weight calculations and engineering data, while supporting the Project Leader and providing guidance to draftspeople.
The role requires a strong understanding of engineering processes, practical shipbuilding experience and the ability to maintain an overview in a demanding yachtbuilding environment where weight, strength, comfort, space and finish quality all matter.
What you’ll do
  • Coordinate the technical preparation of shipbuilding engineering packages, including construction, outfitting and exterior structures.
  • Guide draftspeople in the development of detailed technical drawings and act as the Project Leader’s right hand, including replacing them during absence when required.
  • Review drawings, work packages and engineering output for technical accuracy, production readiness, quality standards and alignment with Flag and Class requirements.
  • Prepare material specifications, collect supplier quotations and provide complete, decision-ready information to the purchasing department.
  • Maintain project data, including quotations, drawings, bills of material in Excel, engineering documentation and information in a custom ERP environment.
  • Manage weight calculations and project-level weight overviews in Excel, maintaining an accurate view of the full project baseline.
  • Monitor hours administration, analyse progress and support proposals for new projects with reliable technical and planning input.
Profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Shipbuilding Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven experience in shipbuilding, preferably in superyachtbuilding or complex vessel construction.
  • Good understanding of engineering workflows, drawing control, production preparation and technical handover to purchasing and production.
  • Experience with Flag and Class interfaces, including the ability to understand requirements, manage comments and support technical follow-up.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel for weight calculations, bills of material, overviews and analysis.
  • Experience with 3DX / CATIA is especially relevant.
  • Professional English communication skills, both written and spoken.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Rhino.
  • Experience working with custom ERP systems.
  • Previous experience coordinating multiple projects at the same time.
  • Experience supporting project proposals, technical estimates or early project preparation.
  • Familiarity with luxury yachtbuilding standards and high-end outfitting interfaces.
Benefits
  • A gross monthly salary ranging from €4,000 to €5,000, depending on your experience.
  • Travel allowance without kilometre limitation.
  • 40 days off based on full-time employment.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Training and development opportunities through an internal academy.
  • Free fruit at the office.
  • Collective insurance options.
  • Active staff association with outings, drinks and company events.
  • Relocation support if you are moving to the Netherlands.
  • Support with applying for the 30% ruling, where applicable.
