What you will do
Your main responsibility will be to extend and improve AeroMES by developing new modules that strengthen and digitalize our production processes. Examples of upcoming developments include:
- Resource planning
- Quality workflows
- Process flow management
- Other modules supporting efficiency, traceability, and digital integration
You will collaborate closely with colleagues in production, quality, engineering, and IT to ensure AeroMES continues to evolve into a powerful enabler for our operations.
Responsibilities
- Develop and extend AeroMES modules in Ignition to meet business and production needs.
- Work with stakeholders (production, quality, engineering, IT) to translate requirements into technical solutions.
- Implement and optimize MES functionalities such as resource planning, quality workflows, and process flow management.
- Maintain and improve existing AeroMES modules.
- Support integration of AeroMES with machines, PLCs, automation systems, and other IT applications.
- Provide demonstrations, training, and support to end users.
- Document solutions and share knowledge within the OT team.
- Contribute to project planning, scope definition, and reporting.
- Stay up to date with MES/Industry 4.0 technologies and propose improvements for AeroMES.
About you – Requirements
- Technical background (ICT, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or equivalent experience).
- Strong understanding of PLC logic and industrial automation.
- Programming skills in Python (Jython 2.7) for scripting within Ignition.
- Experience with SQL databases (queries, reporting, integration).
- Familiarity with integration protocols such as OPC UA, MQTT, REST APIs.
- Good understanding of software development practices (documentation, testing, version control).
- Problem-solving and analytical mindset, able to turn business needs into technical solutions.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable working with both shopfloor and management.
- Proactive, flexible, and eager to grow in the field of Operational Technology and Industry 4.0.
Skills you will learn on the job
- Advanced use of Ignition modules (Perspective, Tag Historian, SQL Bridge, Reporting).
- Experience with Canary histortian and Axiom.
- Best practices in Ignition project deployment and system architecture.
- Advanced database optimization and historian integration.
- Front-end development (HTML/JavaScript) for advanced interface customization.
- System integration and advanced connectivity across production and IT systems.
