Role: Project Engineer / HVAC Engineer
Workplace: Rotterdam, Netherlands, with hybrid options
Start: ASAP
Duration: 1 year, with project scope expected to continue longer
Contract: Freelance assignment or employment contract
Focus: Marine HVAC, AutoCAD, 2D HVAC diagrams, superyacht newbuild
EU passport or legal right to work in the Netherlands is required. 

For a 130-metre superyacht newbuild in Croatia, we are looking for a Project Engineer HVAC who understands maritime HVAC and kan create clear technical drawings.

You will work in AutoCAD on 2D HVAC diagrams and engineering drawings for chilled water, ducting, piping, pumps, and related systems. Your work will support the engineering information needed for the 3D model and help the project team move the HVAC scope forward.

Where You’ll Work:

You will join an international maritime and offshore company based in Rotterdam. The local team works on complex HVAC projects for cruise vessels, naval projects, offshore wind, and superyachts.

For this project, the main workplace is the Rotterdam office. Hybrid working is possible, with an expected rhythm of three days in Rotterdam and two days from home. The exact days will be aligned with the project manager and project planning.

Occasional travel to Croatia may be needed during the project.

What You’ll Be Working On:

The project is a 130-metre superyacht newbuild in Croatia. The technical scope is fully focused on HVAC engineering.

You will create 2D HVAC diagrams and AutoCAD drawings for systems such as chilled water, ducting, piping and pumps. These drawings are important for coordination, engineering decisions and the development of the 3D model.

The customer is working with AVEVA for detailed engineering. Your role is to provide clear, accurate and practical HVAC drawing input that helps the wider project team work from the same technical basis.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create 2D HVAC diagrams and AutoCAD drawings for a superyacht newbuild.
  • Work on marine HVAC systems, including chilled water, ducting, piping and pumps.
  • Support the project manager and engineering team with clear technical input.
  • Review project information, layouts and specifications to understand the HVAC scope.
  • Prepare drawings that support coordination and 3D modelling.
  • Check drawings for accuracy, consistency and practical use.
  • Work with international stakeholders in English.
  • Join project meetings and help keep the engineering work moving.
  • Travel to Croatia occasionally when required.

Profile

What You Bring:

  • Maritime engineering experience is required.
  • Experience with HVAC systems in marine, offshore or shipbuilding projects.
  • Good AutoCAD skills.
  • Experience creating 2D engineering drawings or HVAC diagrams.
  • Understanding of chilled water, ducting, piping, pumps or similar HVAC systems.
  • Ability to work from project information and translate it into clear drawings.
  • A sharp eye for detail and a practical engineering mindset.
  • Clear communication in English.
  • Availability to start soon.
