About the Project
Our client is a leading international organization delivering a major pharmaceutical construction project in the Antwerp area. The project is a large-scale, multidisciplinary development involving complex piping, electrical and civil construction activities, with the overall construction programme extending through 2029.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager to coordinate and oversee construction activities on site.
The successful candidate will have a strong multidisciplinary construction background, ideally gained within pharmaceutical, life sciences or other highly regulated industrial environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate day-to-day construction activities on site.
- Develop and implement detailed construction execution plans.
- Plan and coordinate construction activities across piping, electrical and civil disciplines.
- Ensure construction activities are properly sequenced and aligned with the overall project schedule.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements, schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor site progress and identify potential delays, constraints and construction risks.
- Coordinate interfaces between engineering, construction, subcontractors and other project stakeholders.
- Participate in construction planning and progress meetings.
- Ensure contractors and subcontractors work according to agreed schedules and priorities.
- Support short-term and medium-term construction planning.
- Ensure construction activities comply with applicable HSE, quality and project standards.
- Report construction progress, risks and critical issues to project management.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum 10 years of relevant construction/project experience.
- Strong experience in piping, electrical and civil construction.
- Proven experience managing complex multidisciplinary construction activities.
- Strong experience in construction planning and activity coordination.
- Proven ability to prepare and manage construction plans and execution strategies.
- Solid experience managing and coordinating subcontractors.
- Previous experience in pharmaceutical / life sciences projects is highly preferred.
- Experience in large industrial, chemical, energy or other highly regulated projects may also be considered.
- Strong communication, coordination and leadership skills.
- Fluent English is required.
- Candidates from across the EU are welcome.
- Availability to work 100% on site in the Antwerp area.
Contract
The position can be structured either through payroll employment or freelance/B2B collaboration, depending on the candidate's preference and circumstances.
