Job description You will work on projects for the defence maritime domain, supporting naval vessel maintenance and modification work. Your challenge Naval vessels are technically complex assets. Electrical changes, maintenance activities and modifications need to be reflected correctly in the drawing package, so that the final documentation matches the actual onboard situation. Your mission is to convert electrical drawings, mark-ups and engineering input into accurate as-built and detail drawings for naval vessel maintenance and modification projects. You will help create a clear audit trail between the design baseline, field input and final documentation. What you’ll do:
Convert electrical mark-ups, redlines and engineering input into accurate as-built and detail drawings.
Update electrical drawings and documentation in line with project standards, vessel configuration and agreed design changes.
Prepare detail drawings for electrical installations, interfaces and onboard modifications.
Work with EPLAN, MicroStation or comparable CAD tools, with internal training available where needed.
Coordinate with electrical engineers, designers and project stakeholders to clarify technical input and resolve drawing issues.
Check drawing quality, consistency and traceability before release or handover.
Support multidisciplinary naval projects by keeping electrical documentation complete, structured and up to date.
Profile
A background in electrical engineering, electrical design, or a comparable technical discipline.
Around 5 years of relevant experience; flexibility is possible for designers/detailers with the right technical foundation.
Experience with electrical drawings, as-built documentation or detail engineering.
Working knowledge of EPLAN, MicroStation, or other electrical CAD/design tools, or clear willingness and ability to learn it quickly.
A structured way of working, with attention to detail, version control, and drawing quality.
The ability to understand technical mark-ups and translate them into clear, usable engineering documentation.
Experience with naval, defence, or shipbuilding projects is a plus.
Knowledge of onboard electrical installations, automation, drive systems, or vessel systems.
Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering environments.
Great communication in English
